Tribes 2

review: Tribes 2 contains an interesting, (Futuristic Warfare) if not easy to understand initially, mix of strategy, (Another World) first-person shooting and some minor RPG elements for those (3D Graphics) who want to truely get behind thier clan and cheer people on.

The game which is online only (Capture the Flag) there is an offline mode but its more for training purposes (Flag Hunters," and "Rabbit") pits you into the battle as a member of a guild intent (Capture the Flag) on taking over a territory which has attracted another tribe (Join with friends) who doing the same that you are and hopefully leaving you gunned down and humiliated.

To make sure that you win you will need to plan your character and make use of weapon stations, flying and land vehicles as well as different types of armour, guns and mobile turrets.

To play successfully you have to play (Another World) as a team and this is where the fun begins - will you be the main (Futuristic Warfare) tank heavy armour character or will you let other (competitive multiplayer) people do the fighting 4 you and remain in support?

The game has a large variety of maps (several gameplay modes including) and landscapes to fight accross, (Join with friends) all requiring different tactics and plans to make sure you succeed. (The storyline opens in the middle of 3941) With new maps and plugins the value of the game is extended further, (The Tribes of Man are worse than ever) making combat fast and furious. The sound is pitched well with some good music on (Another World) various maps.

Generally a very well balanced game, (Starsiege: Tribes) today it looks slightly dated and could put some people off. (Weapon effects are explosive and explosions are impressive) It is also very possible to be stuck with a side that does not want to play properly. (sp game is almost non-existent) This should not stop you from getting stuck into a (scishooter) gem of a game that deserves a chance to be played.

Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal

PC game / The basic plot continues the story of the serial - somebody wants to kill you because you are a Bhaalspawn. That someone is now an alliance of five other extremely powerful Bhaalspawns who wish to eliminate any possible competition. Black Isle announced that you can gather 8 million EXPs which is really a lot, as your characters become god-like when they reach the fortieth level. I only wander how this will reflect on the Neverwinter Nights, which should be able to allow you to import characters from BG II.

Max Payne

Genre Shooter Styles Third-Person 3D Shooter Developer Remedy Entertainment Ltd Publisher Rockstar Games Release Date July 24, 2001

Over four years in the making, the highly anticipated Max Payne adds a new aspect of stylistic storytelling to the action-based 3D shooter. The game was developed solely as a single-player adventure and the designers at Finland's Remedy Entertainment focused on creating an experience that would make players care at least as much about the main character as they would about finish times or frag counts. Tried and true devices of pulp fiction and film noir are employed in this computer game, drawing the player into the dark story through gripping motivations of revenge and self-preservation.

Gothic

Platform PC Genre Role-Playing Styles Action, Role-Playing Game Developer Piranha Bytes Publisher Xicat Interactive Release Date November 24, 2001 Controls Keyboard /Mouse

Rating: 3,6/5

Complaints: Hard to learn_controls. VVay too many bugs and no flysvvatters around. Not enough 'sneak' options. The game gets a bit boring tovvards the end vvhen u are just running around_killing things to build up our character. This happens in a lot_of RPG's, I vvonder why? The ending is_disappointing.
