Galapago (Action Puzzle) (2006)

The rare and exotic animals of Galapago are in danger of extinction, and the only way to help them escape their fate is to match the animals in groups of three, which in turn transforms them into gold. Shrunken heads guide players around the beaches, jungles, and finally the volcano of the island as they complete 75 levels in two different styles of play. The game is won if players can reach the volcano before it erupts. Bonus games may be unlocked by completing objectives.

7 Wonders of the Ancient World 2006 PC Puzzle Game

7 Wonders of the Ancient World is an action puzzle game that involves quickly swapping two adjacent runes to create matches of three or more. Runes are randomly placed within grids of varying sizes and shapes, with the goal being to remove blocks located behind specific runes. Clearing blocks allows each of the Seven Wonders to be built, with the help of workers toiling away at the bottom of the screen. The more matches you create, the more workers will appear, but you have to maintain a certain pace or they will go on "strike."

Players will visit the following seven locations in their journey: Giza, Alexandria, Olympia, Ephesus, Halicarnassus, Rhodes, and Babylon. Each ancient locale offers seven levels apiece, and the levels are timed for an added challenge. Fail to remove the blocks before time expires, and you'll lose a life as well as a score bonus. In addition to the main game, players can unlock a Free Play option to revisit previously completed levels.

Phantasy Star Universe

review: This one borrows a lot (onlyo) from Phantasy Star Online, but brings a lot of surprises from the older 4 games, (onlyo) like the planet hopping where the camera positions (allpcgame) itself behind the spaceship just like in PS4. The story mode is also good, albeit a bit corny though at times. (onlyo) Compared to PSO, it is much faster (allpcgame) paced and the system is just awesome. As usual though, it (allpcgame) seems like Final Fantasy is stealing the show from a clearly superior, underrated "ph"ranchise online only.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

review: Great simple fun. Not much change (rpgaction) from X-Men legends aside from the graphics (if you have a top (rpgaction) notch PC that can handle them). A few of the customization (rpgaction) options were actually removed from the old X-Men legends 2 style,(rpgaction) so it doesn't get a ten.

Rogue Trooper

Platform PC Genre Action Styles Stealth Developer Rebellion Publisher Eidos Interactive Release Date May 23, 2006 Controls Keyboard /Mouse
www.allpcgame.netRating: 3,9/5
A good action/stealth game. Graphics are_nice'n'shiny. The game looks lovely vvith a bit of anti_aliasing & anisotropic filtering; & the look is a good balance betvveen stylised_comicbook and a more_realist approach. Sound is pleasingly chunky, the_chattering of Rogue's GI rifle_providing a thought_of "yeah, THIS is hovv I imagined it vvould sound" vvhen first heard. The voice_actors give solid performances_throughout, playing their roles vvith a healthy dose of_melodrama & caricature. The soundtrack_is a good, quirky techno_affair; very atomspheric. All this_adds up to a quality product_that Rebellion can_certainly be proud of (doubly_so considering the_seemingly tiny team that vvorked on the game). Inevitably vve move on to the negatiwes though. Level design suffer_a fair bit from_linearity. 1 or 2 alternative routes are_offered here & there, but_you'll find yourself_funnelled most of the time.www.allpcgame.net

This is probably_the most fun I've had_playin a beat em up since streets_of rage. It captures_all the fun of the_early 90's games vvith over the top moves & other moves that vvill just make u laugh. There are some_elements to the game that_are frustrating, for example vvhen u go through 3 quarters of the_level only to be defeated_then have to redo the vvhole thing. It can turn_into some button_bashing, but u still have to think_about it the majority of_the time.www.allpcgame.net

Glory of the Roman Empire

Genre Strategy Styles Empire-Building Developer Haemimont Games
Publisher CDV Software Entertainment USA

PC game / In the spirit of classics such as Pharaoh and (especially) Caesar, Glory of the Roman Empire is a city-building game set in ancient times. Beginning with limited resources and a very small population, players develop their city by adding new buildings. These offerings attract new citizens, just as they require more workers. Eventually, an infrastructure of realistically interrelated facilities covers the landscape, requiring careful management to keep balanced. Even still, it will take more than fancy bread and circuses to keep citizens content, as they must feel safe from the barbarians who lurk on the outskirts of civilization. Some may find success through diplomacy and trade with the northern tribes, but wise governors may also want to train military forces in their cities, to fend off raiding savages.

Sword of the Stars

PC game - year 06/ It is the 25th century and Humans are now exploring space and discovering they are not alone. In Sword of the Stars, players will colonize space as one of four races: Humans, Hivers, Tarkas, and Liir, each with their own language, ships, and technologies to guide them through the adventure. For example, the Hivers travel the galaxy through Teleport Gates, and Liir use light drives for their own space journeys.

The four have a basic technology tree to follow, and options to research over 150 upgrades. However, the tree will change slightly each time a new game is started, so there will be no exploitation of a favorite skill. The game can be played alone, or with up to eight friends through the Internet or a LAN. Players will begin a custom game by organizing a variety of options including the number of stars present in the galaxy, number of players, beginning resources and technology, and the amount of time given for strategic and tactical gameplay. Scenarios such as "Hungry Children," where players hold off an invasion of Hivers, and "Holy Lands," a situation where gamers will attempt to capture and hold five holy planets for five turns, are included with the initial release of the game.

Ships are fully customizable, and players can research and create their own ships using the included designer. Three ship types, destroyer, cruiser, and dreadnaught, are the basis for all ship designs. Players can mix and match command, mission, and engine sections, then add armor and a few of over 40 weapon choices.
